How do I activate GPG Services?

Sometimes GPG Services will not show in the contextual menu after installing GPG Suite. Please check, that GPG Services are activated correctly:

  • open System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Services
  • GPG Services needs to be activated in two locations
    1. The Files and Folders section GPGS_sys_pref_files.jpg
    2. The Text section please activate: GPGS_sys_pref_text.jpg

With both sections enabled, retry to use GPG Services from the contextual menu. In case the issue persists, also try using the services menu from the menubar, e.g. TextEdit > Services > OpenPGP:
