How to enable GPG Mail on macOS

macOS 15 Sequoia and 14 Sonoma

On macOS 15 Sequoia and 14 Sonoma GPG Mail is currently in beta. Please ensure you are running the latest macOS update from Apple. After installing GPG Suite beta to activate GPG Mail:

  1. Open Mail › Settings › Extensions
  2. Click on the checkbox next to GPG Mail
  3. Activate your Support Plan in GPG Keychain > Settings > GPG Mail

macOS 10.15 - 13

On macOS 13 Ventura, 12 Monterey and 11 Big Sur GPG Mail should automatically be activated. If that did not work or you are still running macOS Catalina, to enable GPG Mail

  1. open Mail > Settings > General > Manage Plug-Ins…
  2. tick checkbox for GPGMailLoader (In case you see more than one GPGMailLoader, pick the newest one)
  3. click Apply and Restart Mail
  4. Activate your Support Plan in Mail > Settings > GPG Mail.
