On my mac, Mail.app cannot decrypt messages, gives following error:

GPG error message:
gpg: encrypted with 4096-bit RSA key, ID 3985EF0DC05D6E76, created 2015-10-29
"Norman Packard [email blocked]" gpg: public key decryption failed: Invalid IPC response
gpg: encrypted with RSA key, ID 988B3DB00B7A639E
gpg: encrypted with 4096-bit RSA key, ID 605D606767DFDA46, created 2020-01-11
"John S McCaskill [email blocked]" gpg: decryption failed: No secret key

Expected
Expect to see decrypted message.

Additional info
This happened after key was updated to include new email address.

NOTE: if the attachment is downloaded, then executing “gpg -d encrypted.asc” works fine to decrypt message. Gpg at command line finds the secret key, Mail.app does not.

    Hi NP,

according to your debug log you have the following program configured for passphrase requests pinentry-program /usr/local/bin/pinentry-tty. Unfortunately that won't work in combination with GPG Mail in macOS Mail.

Please comment that line in your ~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf and make sure to uncomment the following line:

    pinentry-program /usr/local/MacGPG2/libexec/pinentry-mac.app/Contents/MacOS/pinentry-mac

Save the file and run the following command after making the change:

    killall gpg-agent

After completing these steps you should be asked for a passphrase when you try to decrypt a message and the decryption should succeed.

    Hope that helps.
