GPG Keychain generating invalid private/public RSA key pair

On Catalina (version 10.15.1 Beta (19B68f)), I generate a new 4096 bit private/public key pair, and it seems to be an invalid key. When importing public key into two other PGP programs (Tails and gpg4usb), it states that the public key is invalid. When uploading this public key to other sites, it generates an encryption that I can not decrypt, and it encrypts it with a fingerprint that does not match the one of my key.

I am sure this is due to running the beta, but I am curious as to why this may be happening, and letting other users know about it

    Hi Colin,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Can you send us a screenshot of the error messages you are seeing when trying to import the key in question into gpg4win and gpg4usb.

Are you able to reproduce the problem when you create another test key?

There is not a lot that has changed in regards to key generation when it comes to the Catalina update and we have not received similar complaints from other users.

    All the best,

    Hi Steve,

As it turns out, exporting the public key as a .asc file worked. When
exporting my public key (or other people's public key) via email, I was
given the messages that it was not a valid public key.

Glad to hear you were able to find a solution.

If you shared your key via the email option only the public key part is shared. So I could imaging the error message you were seeing was maybe because the softare in question expected a secret key part as well.

But that would have to be clarified with the developers of the both softwares you mentioned.
