I am trying to decrypt a message in .txt and it keeps telling me Code 58, no data found. I have my PGP key and the key of the person I am corresponding with and I have never had this issue before. I had an earlier version, which was giving me an error code, so I updated to the most recent version--still error.

Whenever I have done this before, the message has decrypted smoothly into a new .txt file.

Please help!

    Hi TE,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Are you able to reproduce the error when opening TextEdit, entering some random text then encrypting and decrypting your own key?

Can you let us know which file format the text you are trying to decrypt is in?

    All the best,
    Steve

PS: To benefit from the latest security fixes from apple, you may want to check for pending macOS updates in the App Store. General info about Apple security releases including the latest macOS release.

If you prefer to stay on macOS High Sierra that is fine, but we would recommend to install all updates from Apple which would bring you to 10.13.6 and for that there are a few security updates available as well.

    Hi Steve,

I tried doing this. I can encrypt and decrypt fine using my own key.

    Best,

    Vittoria

    Hi Steve,

I also updated the app and the error is still happening.

This sounds like the message you have received may be corrupted.
