we've just released a new version of GPG Suite which includes a
fix for your
problem.
Please download it from: <a href=

I installed it but still have exactly the same problem with GPG
Preferences:

"You can’t open GPGPreferences preferences because it
doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac."

:-(

petertag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/280026372013-08-01T11:33:35Z2013-08-01T11:33:35ZWrong GPGPreferences installed on 10.6.8?

Hi Peter,

I just checked the Apple Forums and apparently this is a problem
which might not be related to a specific software.
Could you try to run OnyX? That's a program that cleans your
system, repairs permissions and most of the time helps to solve
such problems.

<a href=

The following article shows you the recommended settings for
OnyX:

Please ignore everything that's written on that page, only the
screenshot is important.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/280026372013-08-01T14:30:48Z2013-08-01T14:30:48ZWrong GPGPreferences installed on 10.6.8?

Hi Luke
I tried onyx but it made no difference to the GPGPreferences
(although it did screw up some of my other system preferences!)

have a closer look at this?
same here on a MacBook 1.1/10.6.8 as described in Peters Post
#4.
I also ran "update_dyld_shared_cache -root / -force".
But GPGPrefs from GPGTools-2013.5.20 doing fine.

Olivettitag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/280026372013-08-02T20:26:21Z2013-08-02T20:26:21ZWrong GPGPreferences installed on 10.6.8?

Hi Olivetti,

could you please open Console.app and check for any errors
related to this issue in there?
This error messages is such non sense that it's really strange,
there's not more to be found on the cause.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/280026372013-08-02T20:33:50Z2013-08-02T20:33:50ZWrong GPGPreferences installed on 10.6.8?

Now this sounds kinda strange, but were you opening a different
third-party preference pane before trying to use
GPGPreferences?

I've found this somewhere on a forum
" Ok turns out that you had opened a 32bit pref pane which made
SystemPreferences run in 32 bit mode, you have to close
SystemPreferences in order to open the 64 bit only MagicPrefs pref
pane.
"

GPGPreferences is also 64bit only.
Also, could you please tell me what kind of Mac this problem is
appearing on?

Sorry for the troubles!

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/280026372013-08-02T20:50:38Z2013-08-02T22:56:51ZWrong GPGPreferences installed on 10.6.8?

No Problem, it's on a MacBook 1,1/10.6.8, which is the first one
and it's 32bit only.
As i told in post #8, i can run GPGPrefs from GPGTools2013.5.20
with no Problems (i switch back and forth with "mv" in
/Library/PreferencePanes).
If GPGPref is 64bit only, then the error has been found.

I've just reverted it to be 32bit too again.
Could you please try the version you'll find attached and us know

Will be officially fixed in the next release.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/280026372013-08-03T07:23:14Z2013-08-03T07:23:14ZWrong GPGPreferences installed on 10.6.8?

Hi Luke
sorry I've been away at a client site for a while. I'm running on a
32bit iMac. So that sounds like the problem.
I headed over to the new discussion you split off. I don't speak
German but it appeared that the GPGPreferences-1.0.2-5.dmg worked
for Olivetti, so I downloaded that and it worked for me too.
Thanks.

petertag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/280026372013-08-03T18:31:54Z2013-08-03T18:31:54ZWrong GPGPreferences installed on 10.6.8?

Hi Peter,

Perfect. Glad, this is solved for you. And thanks for the
feedback. This fix will be contained in the next stable
release.

I'm closing this discussion. If you need further assistance or
have questions open a new discussion any time.
