<p>welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.</p>
<p>A requirement to send an encrypted email is to have the public key of the recipient. So the recipient has to share their public key with you. That can happen via the key servers or they could send their public key to you and you import their public key into GPG Keychain.</p>
<p>The recipient needs to have some sort of OpenPGP plugin installed. OpenPGP implementations are many and can range from a plugin like GPG Mail for Mail.app or Enigmail for Thunderbird to web based solutions like Mailvelope.</p>
<p>This <a href="https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/kb/how-to/introduction-to-cryptography">KB-article</a> explains the basics of public key cryptography. It's a long text but worth the time.</p>
