<p>we're very sorry about this. We've released the new version
GPGMail 2.0a30 shortly after the problem came first to our
attention. Our download history also shows, that most of our users
have already updated to that version.</p>
<p>That was also the reason to close the discussions, not to
obscure or hide anything. We close every discussion, once an issue
is resolved, so we don't loose the overview of people still having
problems.</p>
<p>We treat everyone asking for help politely and in the quickest
and most co-operative way possible. If you follow us, you should
know that we do this all on our own time, without any direct
compensation.<br>
Our whole suite is completely free, our source code can be changed
by anyone, including you if you're a programmer, we are happy about
any code change requests and try to provide the best support we
can. You don't often find great support, if any, for free open
source tools, so I feel free to say, that we're taking our users
very seriously.</p>
<p>Please do not forget that we emphasize on our site, that GPGMail
for Lion is still an alpha version and most of our users know
this.</p>
<p>Unfortunately the installer still includes the old version, but
we'll fix that as soon as possible as well.</p>
<p>I can completely understand your frustration, and I'm glad you
share your opinion with us and I really hope that my response shows
that we're taking everyone seriously, even if we don't agree with
the tone of your message.</p></div>Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/141437302012-03-05T17:06:42Z2012-03-05T17:06:42Zdumping everything to system.log<div><p>Hi Luke,</p>
<p>Thanks for your answer.<br>
To be fair: I really appreciate your work. I started using gpgtools
a couple of months ago and I was really impressed about all this
wrapping around GPG which works just great (so called Mac way ;)
).<br>
I forgot to mention it in my previous post as I was really confused
when I accidentally noticed all my mail messages dumped into log
file. This also caused the tone of my message - sorry about
that.</p>
<p>Please replace the current available version (2011.12.24) with
the new one ASAP or at least give users the clear message, that
there are still some development traps in this one.<br>
I also can not find the clear statement that GPGMail for Lion is in
alpha phase - I think it should be clearly noted e.g. somewhere
near: Main Features [...] Integrated GPGMail (OS X 10.5 to 10.7,
Universal).</p>
<p>I am sure you guys understand well that software you provide is
not like the Tetris game or something like that. It is quite more
serious so informing people about all possible issues and solving
such a serious bugs is very important to let them trust you.</p>
<p>Keep up the good work,<br>
Best regards,<br>
Mike</p></div>Miketag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/141437302012-03-05T19:45:23Z2012-03-05T19:46:52Zdumping everything to system.log<div><p>Hi Mike,</p>
<p>you're absolutely right, security software should be held<br>
to a higher standard.<br>
If it wasn't for the upcoming first stable release of GPGMail for
Lion,<br>
which is a complete rewrite from scratch, we'd had long
exchanged<br>
the installer. We should have done this sooner, no question about
it.<br>
Our 2.0 stable release is due in a few days, which will also be
included in<br>
a new GPGTools installer, so the problem for those not having
updated<br>
to a30 yet, is fixed as well.</p>
<p>I'm really glad you like our software and that we found a
constructive way<br>
to talk about the issue at hand. We certainly never intended to
piss anyone off.<br>
rest assured, this will not happen again.</p></div>Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/141437302012-03-18T20:52:51Z2012-03-18T20:52:51Zdumping everything to system.log<div><p>Fixed in latest installer. Fixed in GPGMail stand-along.
Closing.</p>
<p>Mike if you need further help or assistance please open a new
discussion. :)</p>
<p>All the best, steve</p></div>Steve
