GPGMail: Mail does not open main window

When Mail (Version 12.2 (3445.102.3)) is started with GPGMail enabled, it does not open the main window on startup, it cannot be opened from the menu, nor is it possible to compose any messages.

Expected
Apple Mail Viewer window opens on Mail startup.

    Apologies, installing the latest version of GPGSuite seems to have fixed the problem. Funnily, the update in System Preferences assured me I had the latest version, even though I had 2018.1 and 2018.5 is available…

    Hi Jan,

    welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

    We disabled automatic updates due to the introduction of GPG Mail Support Plan. Read more about that here:

    GPG Mail beta which was included in 2018.1 has expired.

    Hi Steve,

    I have a Support Plan but what confused me is that an attempt to update (in the GPG suite preference pane) says “your version is up to date” for 2018.1. Maybe a different message would be better.

    Jan, you are correct about that deadlock. We are investigating how to resolve this. Ideally we would show an explanatory message for old versions of GPG Suite and not the information, that no update is available, which is simply not the case.

    I have opened an internal ticket for this problem.
