<p>I first used the stable version of GPG Suite, then (because of this problem) I installed the current latest version, so I am currently running:<br>
GPG Suite 2018.5, GPG Mail 3.0.1.</p>
<p>On Mac OS 10.14.2, with Apple Mail 12.2.</p>

<p>When I receive signed emails from colleagues (i.e., the email in Apple Mail is correctly displayed with the text “Security: Signed (<a href="mailto:name.of.colleage@name.of.company.com">name.of.colleage@name.of.company.com</a>)”), but the email does not show any .asc attachment.</p>
<p><strong>What did you expect instead</strong></p>
<p>I expect signed email messages to contain an .asc attachment. This would enable me to save the attachment, or drag it to GPG Keychain to import the key into my keychain.</p>
<p><strong>Describe steps leading to the problem.</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>I receive signed email.</li>
<li>I open the email in Apple Mail.</li>
<li>I verify that the email is recognized as signed (i.e., the email in Apple Mail is correctly displayed with the text “Security: Signed (<a href="mailto:name.of.colleage@name.of.company.com">name.of.colleage@name.of.company.com</a>)</li>
<li>I check whether the email is shown with attachments, in particular: with the expected signature.asc attachment</li>
</ul>

<p>welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.</p>
<p>There are a few things to take into consideration here:</p>
<ul>
<li>an asc attachment could be both a signature or a public key</li>
<li>using PGP/MIME you will not see any attachment for the signature</li>
<li>if a public key was attached to the email message you would see an attachment</li>
</ul>
<p>Basically GPG Mail is behaving as expected. You received a signed email. The email is shown as signed and the signature was successfully verified. That is all sweet and dandy.</p>
<p>If you want to see what it would look like if a public key was attached to a signed email, please open GPG Keychain any key then select menubar > key > send public key via email.</p>
<p>That will open an email draft. Make sure that message is signed (and encrypted if you also want to test that) and then that draft to yourself. You would then receive a signed and encrypted email with an asc files attached, which is the shared public key.</p>
