GPG Mail: Multiple keys - multiple email accounts
Hi!
How come it uses email-address as identifier rather than key fingerprint? It makes it very hard if you have multiple encryption keys on multiple email addresses.

Hi skeldoy,
can you elaborate more on your setup? Where are you seeing the identifier used? And what exact setup are you using in regards to email accounts and keys?
Best,
Steve

Hi!
Yeah.. Well… I have two email accounts and * at least * two encryption keys per email account… In the past versions the behaviour of the GPG tools Mail OS X integration was to pick the first key associated with the email address.. So clearly it wasn’t paying any attention to the fingerprint of the key but rather associated it to email address.. Now - in this particular version - it doesn’t even wanna encrypt stuff using one of the email accounts .. the other one is hardcoded to a particular key and trying to change that doesn’t do anything (using the Default key-thing in PrefPanels)… It used to list all the keys and it was only the choosing of those that was b0rkeded - but now it doesn’t even list the keys.. so yeah..
To replicate: Have two different email accounts in one Mail OS X client and associate at least two keys to each email address and try to see if it works changing between the different keys and accounts..

We have a ticket for the problem where GPG Mail is unable to pick the correct key to encrypt to in case multiple keys exist for the same recipient address. I connected this discussion with the existing ticket. That means, should this discussion get closed, it will be re-opened as soon as the ticket is closed. That way you'll stay in the loop and get notified as soon as we have news. Feel free to open a new discussions should you run into further problems or need assistance.
Please note that the default key in System Preferences > GPG Suite Preferences is unrelated to this problem.
We'll let you know as soon as we have news about this problem.
