GPG Keychain: Creating a passphrase
How do I create a Pass Phrase?
I don't recall ever entering such a thing when I created my key and now (obviously) I can't open up anything that I send encrypted. I'm testing by sending an encrypted message to another email account that also has a key. I just don't get it and I can't find the answer. How do I recover?

Hi Michael,
welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.
Please excuse the late reply, we are deeply sorry for not responding earlier. The amount of feedback we received in regards to the GPG Suite 2018.4 release was overwhelming - both positive and negative. We are doing our best to catch up as fast as we can.
This KB-article explains what to do if you forgot your password or lost access to your secret key.
Let me know if the KB was helpful or if you need additional assistance.
Best,
Steve

To see the location where you enter the password for the GPG key you generated, open GPG Keychain and create a new key. That dialog has the password field.
