GPG Mail: updated GPGMail won't let me access Mail

I occasionally use GPG. I love it when I do, but I’m not sure I want to subscribe and certainly not this moment. Now when I open Mail, it gives me the GPG paywall. It won’t let me see my normal Mail, which is 99% of my mail, and it won’t let me quit Mail without a force quit.

Expected
the new GPG Mail is supposed to be a paywall for encrypting, signing emails — it should not interfere with me reading my normal emails. I shouldn’t have to activate a 30 day trial period by force. I should never have to force quit an application; that’s ridiculous.

Additional info
please tell me how to resolve the paywall or uninstall the product.

    Hi Renee,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

I assume you are referring to the trail dialog you are seeing? You can press "Continue Trail" to get rid of the dialog.

If you do not want to use GPG Mail: This KB-article explains how to uninstall GPGTools or GPG Mail only.

More info about the changes can be found here:

    Steve,

Thank you for your response. To add to my frustration, the link you provide says that the uninstaller will offer the option to uninstall GPG Mail only, or the Suite. It does not. It only uninstalls the Suite. I'm completely baffled at why the documentation is inconsistent with the download, and why I have to uninstall third party software to read my unencrypted email.

It's likely I would have paid for GPG Mail in the future; it's been a great product. But this experience makes it extremely unlikely.

Please excuse the late reply. We received an overwhelming amount of feedback in regards to the GPG Suite 2018.4 release - both positive and negative. We are doing our best to catch up as fast as we can.

The uninstaller has been updated and allows to uninstall GPG Mail only now. This must have bee nthe short time window between the KB being updated and the new installer not yet being correctly linked. Sorry for that.

Do you have open questions we can still help you with regarding your setup?
