GPG Mail: Bug: draft removed
Often in this version of GPG Mail 3.0 (Build 1330 Trial version), I try sending an email and it asks for the PGP passphrase.
While I search for my PGP passphrase, the passphrase asking dialog disappears with my draft... The draft is lost. I cannot find it in Drafts nor in Sent, nowhere in all my mail accounts.
Expected
The draft should not be lost. The dialog should not disappear.

Hi Daisuke,
welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.
I'm setting this discussion to "private". That means only our core-team and the company hosting this support platform are able to access this discussion.
We've not heard of this behavior so far. Could you create a screencast using the onboard QuickTime software.
To end the recording, press the 'Stop' icon in the menubar icon section. Save the file and attach it to your existing discussion by visiting your discussion in your browser.
Are the steps always reproducible or does this problem happen rather infrequently?
Are you still seeing the problem if you store your OpenPGP password in macOS keychain? Please see this KB-article on how to manage passwords for your keys.
All the best,
steve

Please find attached the .mov file.
The problem happens whenever I reply to an encrypted email (see the video).
Yes, I store my OpenPGP password in macOS keychain.
Many thanks for your support.
Sincerely,
Daisuke

Thanks, the screencast was very helpful in seeing what is happeing. You are canceling the pinentry dialog, which then results in the lost draft.
The problem at hand is caused by a bug in macOS Mail.app. We reported this issue to Apple in october 2015 as rdar://22828028.
Please use their feedback form to inform Apple about this problem and ask them kindly to consider investing the time to fix this bug. It may help to add the rdar numbers, so they know which issue you are referring to.
We did ping them several times, last time in 2018 but have not heard back.
It's astonishing Apple does not fix this problem as lost data is involved.
Best,
steve

Hi Daisuke,
this issue should be fixed. If you want to test the fix, please download our latest hotfix GPG Suite. That page also has Signature file and SHA1 to verify the download.
We are in the midst of preparing the next release so feedback would be highly appreciated. If you have a few minutes please take the latest nightly (currently 2502n) for a spin.
Best,
Steve
