GPG Mail and Sierra: Messages not loading

Which of our tools is giving you problems? GPGMail in GPG Suite 2018.4_2

Describe your problem. Add as much detail as possible. In macOS 10.12, multiple users have had an issue where messages in Mail.app stay on "loading…" after installing the latest version of GPGTools. The issue persists after quitting Mail.app and after restarting the machine. At this time, installing the Nightly appears to resolve the issue.

What did you expect instead Messages to load in the Mail.app when selected.

Describe steps leading to the problem. This began after installing the newest version of GPGTools.

Are you using any other Mail.app plugins? No.

    Same here with High Sierra, no other Mail.app plugins.
    And it's impossible to open "Settings" / "GPG Suite" - I only got the spinning beach ball.

    The issue with Sierra seems to be developing. Now, rather than messages staying on "loading…" Mail is actually quitting unexpectedly when trying to load messages.

    For me, the issue has not been duplicated on High Sierra.

    Hi Matt and Reklow,

    this is a known regression we are currently looking into.

    To workaround this problem you have the following options:

    1. downgrade to GPG Suite 2018.3, skip the 2018.4 update and wait for 2018.4.1 which we will release soon and which will include a fix for this problem.

    2. wait for the next nightly build - we are looking into this issue but need a little more time to provide a fix.

    We will keep you posted in any way once a fix is available.

    We have a ticket for this problem. I connected this discussion with the existing ticket. That means, should this discussion get closed, it will be re-opened as soon as the ticket is closed. That way you'll stay in the loop and get notified as soon as we have news. Feel free to open a new discussions should you run into further problems or need assistance.

    this issue has been fixed and the fix will be included in the upcoming GPG Suite 2018.4.1 release. If you want to test the fix, please download our latest hotfix GPG Suite. That page also has Signature file and SHA1 to verify the download. Thanks for helping us test this fix.
