Hi,

I just recently tried out Mailbutler. But since the Email encryption option on my mac mail was no more available, I deleted Mailbutler again. Unfortunately, the encryption option did not re-appear in mac mail.

Now I can neither encrypt my mails (although re-installing GPG suite), nor can I read my old encryprted emails (Verification FAILED: No signatures found).

What can I do?

    Hi Daniel,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

We are in the midst of preparing the next release of GPG Suite. Until that is ready, please download and install our latest hotfix GPG Suite. That will bring you back to working state and you will then receive the update notice once the next GPG Suite stable release is available shortly.

    All the best,
    steve

Disclaimer: This is a development version which has not been thoroughly tested yet - bugs or crashes are to be expected. Thanks for helping us test.

    Hi Steve,

thanks for the link. I was almost happy yesterday, because your latest hotfix was able to provide me with access to all my old encrypted emails.

Unfortunately, today, I am not able to access those Emails anymore. I have the feeling that it has something to do with Mailbutler.

Do you have any suggestions on what to do?

    Thanks, Daniel

To test this out, could you temporarily disable MailButler and see if GPG Mail works fine then?

To do that follow the steps below but instead of the GPG Mail bundle, temporarily remove the Mail Butler Bundle.

    -- To temporarily disable GPGMail:

    • shut down Mail.app
    • open finder
    • navigate to /Library/Mail/Bundles or ~/Library/Mail/Bundles and copy GPGMail.mailbundle to your desktop
    • now delete GPGMail.mailbundle from the original folder

Restart Mail and check the Preferences - GPGMail should be gone.

To re-enable mail, close Mail.app and move the bundle file back to the Bundles folder.

    Hi Steve,

thanks a lot for your answer. Unfortunately, I was not able to find a file named GPGMail.mailbundle. My ~/Library/Mail/Bundles folder is empty.

    What can I do?

    Thanks a lot, Daniel

GPG Suite 2018.4 has since been released. Note though that GPG Mail is now a trial version for 30 days after which a Support Plan has to be purchased.

    Details

    FAQ: https://gpgtools.org/faq
    Open Letter: https://gpgtools.org/open-letter
    Support Plan: https://gpgtools.org/support-plan

Regarding not finding the plugin: did you check both locations?
navigate to /Library/Mail/Bundles or ~/Library/Mail/Bundles and copy GPGMail.mailbundle to your desktop

    Best,
    steve
