Apple Mail forgets GPG Suite after long uptime/sleep
I’m using GPG Suite 2018.3 on an iMac with macOS 10.13.6 (17G65). Several times now I’ve noticed that Apple Mail simply forgets that GPG is there, meaning that I can neither read nor write encrypted messages. Typically this happens on waking the machine up after having left it on overnight. In the past, rebooting the system provided a simple workaround, but this time I have a long calculation running that I don’t want to interrupt. What can I do?
Expected
I expect that if I leave myself logged in overnight then I can still use Apple Mail to read and write encrypted messages the following morning without having to reboot the machine.

Hi David,
welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.
We are in the midst of preparing the next release of GPG Suite. Until that is ready, please download and install our latest hotfix GPG Suite. That will bring you back to working state and you will then receive the update notice once the next GPG Suite stable release is available shortly.
All the best,
steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the quick reply. But I am confused: System Preferences is telling me that I already have the latest version (screenshot attached, in German).
Yours,
David

The same happend to me today: Yesterday it worked. Today the mail-programm "forgot" GPG and no reboot or GPG-Update helped.
