first, do you mean PGPMail (the commercial version of Symantec)
or GPGMail?
GPGMail doesn't assume that your passphrase is in the default
keychain, rather allows you to store your passphrase there, if you
want to.

Could you describe the actual problem you're seeing or the error
message you're getting?

We're happy to help if you can provide us with a little more
information

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/117282892011-11-29T01:22:27Z2014-10-09T21:15:58ZNon-default Apple Keychain unsupported (web)

I meant GPGMail. Sorry.

It stores the passphrases to my default keychain fine. But if I
move them to another one, then I am asked for the key passphrases
again and it no longer looks in the keychain. It does off to save
them again for me, at which point I can store them in my default
keychain again.

So the behavior is 100% normal as long as I leave the
passphrases for my keys in the default keychain, and problems only
occur if I want to store them to a non-default one. No error
messages, simply acts like there is no stored passphrase.

adamtag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/117282892011-11-29T01:30:51Z2011-11-29T01:30:51ZNon-default Apple Keychain unsupported (web)

You are right, that's the default location where passphrases are
stored and there's no way to change that behavior at the moment as
a user.
I'll open a ticket for it, but unfortunately it will take some time
to support it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/117282892011-11-29T01:48:34Z2011-11-29T01:48:34ZNon-default Apple Keychain unsupported (web)

It seems the change is very minor.
If you want, I could send you a version with a fixed path to your
keychain as a temporary solution

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/117282892011-11-29T02:51:50Z2011-11-29T02:51:50ZNon-default Apple Keychain unsupported (web)

The version of pinentry-mac linked below allows you to specify a
custom keychain path.

pinentry-mac v.0.8.1 - <a href=

1.) Change to /usr/local/MacGPG2/libexec
2.) Move the application (folder) pinentry-mac.app to
pinentry-mac.app.old
3.) Move the pinentry-mac.app from the zip file to that
location
4.) Use the defaults command to specify the new path

$> defaults write org.gpgtools.common KeychainPath

Hope that helps

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/117282892011-11-29T03:13:21Z2011-11-29T03:13:21ZNon-default Apple Keychain unsupported (web)

Thanks!

We'll include the change in the next release and add a
preference in GPGPreferences if more users request this
feature.

Luke Le
