It's forcing me to encrypt the message and won't let me do anything else.

I'm going to turn off all signing and encryption, to see if that at least lets me send an unencrypted e-mail message. Failing that, I will rip out GPG Suite and try again.

Expected
Let me sign-only instead of forcing me to encrypt?

we are very sorry you are experiencing an issue with GPG Suite.
Could you create a screencast of what you‘re seeing? (QuickTime allows you to do that)
Generally our suite never forces you to encrypt something. It warns you if the original message was encrypted and you would like to reply in plain, but you can choose to ignore that warning. So this sounds pretty curious and we would love to see it in a video to better understand what is going on

Thanks!

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/452733322018-05-13T21:13:14Z2018-05-13T21:13:14ZGPGMail: Forcibly encrypting outgoing mail?

On May 13, 2018, at 5:03 AM, Luke Le tender2+d19825922d@tenderapp.com wrote:

So, I like to use ScreenFlow when I'm recording screencasts, not QuickTime. It took me a little while to do the upgrade from ScreenFlow 5 to ScreenFlow 7, and to get it through the gauntlet of security programs that I use like Little Snitch and BlockBlock. But I got it there.

Of course, by the time I got back to Mail.app and I was recording my attempt to replicate the previous behaviour, I was unable to do so.

Now I'm starting to doubt my own sanity, and whether or not I actually saw what I thought I saw. Sigh......

I think you can close this one. If I have any further problems, I'll let you know. Thanks!

bradtag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/452733322018-05-13T21:15:47Z2018-05-13T21:15:47ZGPGMail: Forcibly encrypting outgoing mail?

Hi Brad,

thank you for the update. You certainly don't have to doubt your own sanity.
Unfortunately a lot of the bugs we receive are not always reproducible, which also makes them much harder to debug and fix. We'll close this discussion, but as you said, please get back to us should the problem re-appear.

Thanks!

Luke Le
