GPG Keychain: Cannot copy/paste public key to import

Since many people share their PGP key as plain text – and not as a file – it would be supremely convenient if, in the Import dialog, there was an option to paste the public key text

An easier way of importing

    Hi Dave,

if you switch to GPG Keychain after copying a public key, GPG Keychain should recognize that and ask you whether or not you want to import that key. As an alternative you can press CMD + V after activating GPG Keychain.

If that is not happening for you, that might be a bug. Would you mind sharing the public key where this doesn’t work?

N.B.: Sometimes keys published on websites include unnecessary HTML. While we try to clean that up and remove it as good as possible, it might lead to a public key not being properly recognized.

    Hope that helps.

Interesting. That's useful (if pretty opaque). Adding a menu item of
"Import from clipboard" might make it more apparent that this can be done.
But I'll look for it in the future.
