GPGMail: Invalid signature when Apple Mail auto-inserts hyperlink

When sending an email including a text URL, Apple mail auto-inserts a hyperlink. It seems that this is happening after the sig for the email is generated, so the email becomes invalid.

  1. Send a signed email with just plain text (no URL)
  2. Observe that sig of sent email is valid
  3. Send a signed email including a text URL
  4. Observe that sig of sent email is invalid

I had expected that the sig would be generated after apple has done any autoformatting, like applying links.

    Hi Samuel,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

We were unable to reproduce this problem. Are you using any plugins besides GPGMail?

    Hey Steve,

I'm not, no. Just GPGMail. I did some googling and couldn't find any
    reference to similar issues either.

Can you send a test message and then please export the message in question, so that we can have a closer look. To export, simply select the message in and press CMD + SHIFT + S, select "Raw Message Source" as type and save it.

Attach both the sent and the received message.

Attach the resulting .eml file to this discussion by visiting it in your browser (email reply should work but sometimes attachments do not arrive).

    Dear Steve,

I can actually no longer reproduce this either. Since emailing you I
removed my IMAP account from Mail and set it up again.

The sigs are now always valid when I include a URL.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the help.

Even better, or not, cause we will probably not be able to figure out what went wrong in the first place. But I am glad this is no longer happening.

I'm closing this discussion. Should you need further assistance or have questions you can re-open this discussion here or open a new one any time.
