It works fine for sending, but not receiving. I get asked for my password over and over. To decrypt, I need to save the raw message and us the command line tools,

Expected
I expected the decrypted message to display in the usual way.

Same for me. Sending is ok, but when receiving or trying to read a message, GPG asks for a password over and over again. I'm also using macOS Sierra and the newest GPG Suite 2017.2. Where can I get the previews version for download?

    Hi Russ, David,

we are very sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with the latest version of GPG Suite.
We believe this problem is triggered if a user has a custom GnuPG version installed along side of our MacGPG.

Could you please download and install our latest GPG Suite nightly build and see if it solves your problem. That page also has sig and SHA256 to verify the download.

Disclaimer: This is a development version which has not been thoroughly tested yet - bugs or crashes are to be expected. Thanks for helping us test.

    Hi Luke,

I didn't installed a custom GnuPG version, but finally the nightly build works!
Thanks for your very quick support! :-)

Viele Grüße / Best regards from Germany
    David

    Hi David,

thank you very much for the update. It's very possible that this installation is already a few years old and wasn't installed on purpose, but as a dependency of a MacPorts/Homebrew/Fink receipt. Due to a bug in our suite, any custom installation would be preferred over ours. If you run the following command in Terminal and it shows a version different from 2.2.3 for GnuPG, then there's a "custom" version installed:

     /usr/local/bin/gpg --version

    Best regards from Austria

Sounds good. The nightly build will prefer MacGPG 2.2.3 over the old gpg version which is why you are back to working state.

@Russ are things working on your end as well?

To remove the old gpg version see this KB-article.

@Russ: The nightly build should bring you back to working state as well: https://releases.gpgtools.org/nightlies/

    All the best,
