GPGMail encrypts although neither certificate nor key is defined for the mail account

Since the latest update (and even before) I regularly receive mails from recipients stating "Your mail had no content and I could not open the attachments". Miraculously, for none of the related e-mail-accounts a certificate or a key had been generated - encryption should not be possible at all.

I am using Apple Mail, most recent version, and the September 2017 GPGTools release. Can anybody help with information how to stop GPGSuite from encrypting these mails at all?

    Hi Oliver,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

I think you are seeing a bug where Mail sends out a draft instead of the actual message. That leads to the scenario where that message is encrypted (I assume you have encrypt drafts enabled?) only with your key.

We have a ticket for this problem. I connected this discussion with the existing ticket. That means, should this discussion get closed, it will be re-opened as soon as the ticket is closed. That way you'll stay in the loop and get notified as soon as we have news. Feel free to open a new discussions should you run into further problems or need assistance.

Are you able to reproduce the problem? At which frequency are you seeing this issue?

Could you please download and install our latest GPG Suite nightly build and see if the problem persists. That page also has sig and SHA256 to verify the download.

    All the best,
    steve

    Hi Oliver,

this issue should finnally be fixed for once and all. If you want to test the fix, please download our latest hotfix GPG Suite. That page also has Signature file and SHA1 to verify the download.

We are in the midst of preparing the next release so feedback would be highly appreciated. If you have a few minutes please take the latest nightly (currently 2502n) for a spin.

    Best,
    Steve
