Every time I attempt to send an email, delivery fails and I receive the following error:

Signing your message failed because an unknown error has occured [sic]

Unfortunately we can't handle the error at this point.

Should your problem persist, please contact us at https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/ with the following error description:

*** -[NSConcreteFileHandle writeData:]: Bad file descriptor

Expected
For my emails to be properly sent and delivered.

Additional info
GPGMail is disabled entirely; problem still persists. Also, whomever drafted the error message spelled ‘occurred’ incorrectly (see “Signing your message failed because an unknown error has occured [sic]” (emphasis omitted)). Thanks.

    Hi James,

we have very recently released the new version of GPG Suite, 2017.2
Could you please install that version from our website and let us know if it fixes this problem (it should)?
    https://gpgtools.org

    Thanks!

    Hi James,

there was a spam comment, it has already been removed.

Are you still seeing the issue you reported back in october 2017 or has that been resolved by the recent GPG Suite updates?

    Hi Steve,

Okay I see now. Yes I still have @ least very similar issues to the reported issue, despite having installed the update. Sorry about my failure to keep in touch. I will pay better attention moving forward.

    Best

Are you on macOS 10.13.3 and GPG Suite 2017.3 by now?

If so, could you please send a debug log from your affected machine: Open System Preferences > GPG Suite > Send Report. Check the box to "attach debug log". Since you already described your issue in this discussion, you don't need to add a lot of detail, but please do add the link to your existing discussion, so I can then merge your debug info with this existing discussion.

    All the best,
    steve

Ah I am just noticing we already figured out you have a custom gpg installed on your mac:

"From the debug log we can tell that you have a custom version of gnupg installed, which might be a problem here. Is version 2.2.1 coming from homebrew/ macports/fink?"

Could you temporarily remove that and see if the problem then still exists?
