this indeed sounds rather weird.

Could you please send a debug log from your affected machine: Open System Preferences > GPGPreferences / GPG Suite > Send Report. Check the box to "attach debug log". Since you already described your issue in this discussion, you don't need to add a lot of detail, but please do add the link to your existing discussion, so I can then merge your debug info with this existing discussion.

All the best,

We currently offer GPG Suite 2016.10 (stable) and GPG Suite 2017.1 (beta). GPGMail for macOS 10.12 Sierra is in beta. To switch to the beta channel:

open GPGPreferences > Settings

in the Update section tick the checkbox to 'Include beta builds'

optionally also enable automatic update checks, to ensure you are notified about new beta releases

press 'Check Now'

After that GPGMail should be up and running again.

If you see any trouble using the beta, please let us know.

All the best,

infact it then shows the message below when trying to compose a message.

Unable to encrypt message
An error occurred while trying to encrypt your message. Verify that you have valid certificates in your keychain for all of the recipients.
