Will not work on macOSX Sierra

Hi all,
yesterday, December 29th, we have sent an email to all of the
watchers in this discussion.
Unfortunately we couldn't simply use our support platform to notify
all watchers, since we were told that if the number of watchers
exceeds a certain amount, no more email notifications will be
sent.
Once we have received some feedback from our users, we will release
the beta on our website and also through our beta update
channel.
To clarify some things mentioned in this discussion:

Crash reporting is optional. You will be asked if you want to opt-in the first time GPGMail discovers a crash.

The reports certainly do not include any keys (neither secret nor public). They are standard macOS crash reports and you can find them under ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ to see what they look like

As with every beta we don't recommend using it in a production environment just yet, since bugs and crashes may occur.
Please report any bugs you find via System Preferences > GPGPreferences > Send Report.
We have added optional crash reporting to GPGMail in order for us to better understand when and where crashes are occuring.

KNOWN ISSUES
* If multiple private keys are available for the same email address, GPGMail currently picks one at random to sign the message
* Some messages might not load correctly. If you can provide us with an example .eml file we'd love to debug the issue.
* If you cancel the pinentry request for signing upon sending a message it might lead to unexpected behavior
* Inline PGP is currently not supported at all, PGP/MIME will be used instead
* "BCC" recpients are currently not treated differently from "TO" or "CC" recipients (gnupg --hidden-recipients option not currently in use)
* The GPGMail Preferences layout is a bit wonky (Mail -> Preferences -> GPGMail)
* Keys that are imported using gnupg cli or GPG Keychain might require a restart of Mail in order to be picked up by GPGMail
* Mail rules for signed or encrypted messages will not work for PGP/MIME signed/encryted messages.
To receive further betas, make sure you are on the beta update channel. Open System Preferenes > GPGPreferences and in the Updates section check the option to 'Include beta builds'. Consider enabling auto-updates to ensure you receive notifications about further beta updates.

I don't feel comments like #60 valuable, since just saying "Apple is shit" (I'm paraphrasing) doesn't make the lack of communication from gpgtools.org better.
Also - whether shiny or not it not a real argument, since with this habit we could have all stood in caves and still hunt what we eat. It would be better, if project members would clarify what the status is (also referencing the above post that talks of inactivity on the source code side), as one could also get the feeling that this is not about a secure system (as #60 says) but about a stalled project. Also security holes can be much better found and fixed by people like me, if the code is handed out early and bugs can be reported if betas are released. None of this is happening here.

Ever considered that the delay could be due to the 10.12.1 update? Users have reported lots of problems with Apple Mail on the initial Sierra release, so it's not crazy to assume that Apple might have to apply some major fixes, which could also impact the plugins. PS: MailHub hasn't been updated either, except for an early beta, and they want money for their software! :)

It's too bad the GPGTools suite is not yet ready for Sierra, but in all honesty it's about the only workable GPG/PGP solution for OSX (Or should I say macOS now). IIRC none of the team working on this is doing this as their $dayjob. So you want GPGTools support them instead of complaining.

Every little bit helps. I just donated, as I do around every major OSX release.
Without wanting to disappoint the team too much, want this fixed? Complain at Apple to pay these guys a nice amount of money for their hard (privacy protecting) work and let them re-use the code and included it in macOS. They are using privacy as a unique selling point, but for mail the only thing they offer is s/mime....

we're still hard at work on GPGMail for Sierra. Unfortunately it's not yet in beta status. You'll get your hands on it, as soon as it is.
We've posted a temporary workaround to decrypt/encrypt/sign your message using GPGServices.
For those who are not familiar with the intricacies of plugin development for Mail.app, Apple does not provide any APIs for Mail.app. Which means that they can change everything internally whenever they want and they often do. If you think they should provide an API, so plugins can be prevented from breaking on a regular basis, please let them know via their feedback form.
