Hi,
I am trying to open a file I pgp'ed a few years ago on my windows laptop. I have the file, but not the old laptop with its pgp programme installed.
I know the passphrase.

How do decrypt the file on a Mac using Yosemite?

Many thanks,
J

    Hi Jez,

that depends if the file is using symmetric or asymmetric encryption. In case of symmetric just install GPG Suite and try to decrypt the file with GPGServices. In the case of asymmetric encryption use the same steps but note that for the decryption to work, besides the passphrase you also need to have the secret key in question.

Let me know where you are at and which steps you have taken so far to get this solved. And should you get stuck, at which step that happened.

    All the best,
    steve
