encrypt mails to people of whom you have the public key. If you
don't have the pub key you cannot encrypt thus there's no danger of
unreadable mails. The reason why the OpenPGP info might be active
is because signing the mail might be active. But keep in mind:
signing is just a way of telling the receiver that you (the owner
of your sec key) are the author of the mail at hand. So those mails
are signed and readable by anyone. They don't require
decryption.</p>
