GPGServices

Mac OS X V 10.6.8

GPG Version 1.4.1

When trying to encrypt from Text Edit I get the following response:

The “OpenPGP: Encrypt” service could not be used because the “GPGServices” application is not compatible with your computer.

Any ideas?
THanks,
J

Beta 4 shouldn't be GPG v1.4.1 as far as I know which is the main reason which I was advising to state the exact versions

Could you please download and install our latest nightly build and see if the problem persists. That page also has sig and SHA1 to verify the download.

My apologies for misunderstanding your request.

    GPG Mail: V: 1.4.1
    GPG Keychain: V: 1.2b3
    GPG Services: V: 1.10b2
    MacGPG2: V: 2.0.26b3
    GPGPreferences: V: 1.5b2

Do I need to download all the "night lies" or specifically the GPG Services?

    Thanks

Just download the GPGsuite and it will update all the relevant modules (there are tones a bugs fixed so far so best to have the latest one)

Then restart you mail.app and let us know if the issue has been fixed

I've done just about everything I know to do. I've deleted the suite, reinstalled the suite, downloaded and installed the night lies all to no avail. I continue to get the "not compatible with your computer" message.

Is there any way to go back to Beta 3. I've essentially lost access to all the encrypted files on my computer, which is NO BUENO.

It seems as though I was able to send an encrypted email but I have yet to hear from the recipient. I hope to hear from them sometime today.

My main problem continues to be encrypting through text edit. When attempting to encrypt, I continue to get the following message, "The “OpenPGP: Encrypt” service could not be used because the “GPGServices” application is not compatible with your computer."

    Hi James,

unfortunately it looks like your computer is no longer supported by GPG Suite. We've switched to 64bit-only a while ago which might explain the problem you're seeing.
Is the processor of your mac by any chance a Core Duo?

    Hi James,

as a first step to improve the situation on 32-bit 10.6 macs, the GPG Suite should now no longer install on such incompatible systems.

Could you please download and install our latest nightly build and see if the problem persists. That page also has sig and SHA1 to verify the download.

We have a second ticket open to provide an Installer for such old system and we'll keep you posted when that is ready.

    All the best, steve

Disclaimer: This is a development version which has not been thoroughly tested yet - bugs or crashes are to be expected. Thanks for helping us test.

James, did you find time to test and see if the latest nightly builds do still install? (they should not)
