first things first: if you can, I suggest you update to a newer
OS. 10.6 is very old and while we are still offering the
GPG Suite for that OS, GPGMail 2 only runs on OS X 10.7 and higher.
GPGMail 1 running on 10.6 is very old as well and has not received
and patches for several years now. It will not be further
developed.

In newer OS from Apple the notes function is gone from newer
Mail.app versions since it has been moved to the standalone
Notes.app.

That being said, I tested this on a 10.6 machine and was able to
create new notes perfectly fine with GPGMail installed. The notes
shows in my inbox and when I check the mail server I found them
there as well so IMAP syncing is working fine as well.

What happens if you disable GPGMail? Are notes working again
then?

shut down mail.app

open finder

navigate to /Library/Mail/Bundles or ~/Library/Mail/Bundles and
copy GPGMail.mailbundle to your desktop

now delete GPGMail.mailbundle from the original folder

Restart mail and check in Mail.app > Preferences if you still
see GPGMail. It should be gone.

Let me know how this goes,

thanks for your quick reply and your suggestions. I know, my
machine is quite an old one but I guess, Yosemite will kill its
still smooth performance as a work horse for my stuff.

It works again, when I remove the GPGMail-Plug-In. Reinstalled I
get the old problems as you can see in the screenshot attached.

I will take a look at my options. Of course, someday I will
replace my macbook through a new one.

Thank you very much for your suppport

hm I think I have bad news. GPGMail 1 will receive no further
updates. So if you think OS X 10.10 is to resource hungry for your
old machine, maybe 10.7 is an option for you? GPGMail 2 already
works on OS X 10.7 and if the issues persist then, it is something
we could look into and potentially provide a fix is the issues are
deriving from GPG Suite.

All the best,
