I've seen many posts that to encrypt an email to a recipient at
an email address that email address must be a uid within that
recipient's public key. But suppose a person changes their email
address without updating their key. Enigmail, for example, allows
me to encrypt mail to that person by choosing the public key from a
list.

This makes a lot of sense since people can have many email
addresses and not all of them in their key. This would be kind of
analogous to just giving a file encrypted to a person on a flash
drive. He can still decrypt it without having received it at one of
the addresses in his key.

Can this be done with GPGMail? This is a bit of a stumbling
block for me since many of my contacts have changed email address
without updating their keys. And I can't just slap them around to
update their keys since some of them could slap back very hard.

the next releases.
We'll have to think of a very intuitive way because we really
focus on simplicity with GPGMail 2.0.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/119921292011-12-09T00:16:22Z2011-12-09T00:16:22Zencrypting to different email address

Thanks Luke. I look forward to it.
