support for HKPS protocol?
Environment:
- Software name and version:
- OS X version: 10.7.4
- GPGTools Installer date: 20120318
What steps will reproduce the problem? Please be as specific as possible.
-
Configure an HKPS keyserver using either GPGPreferences or by editing .gnupg/gpg.conf keyserver hkps://keyserver.cns.vt.edu
keyserver-options ca-cert-file=/path/to/CA/cert/file -
Attempt to search for a key at the shell prompt: gpg2 --search-keys [email blocked]
**What do you expect to see?
gpg: searching for "[email blocked]" from hkps server

keyserver.cns.vt.edu
gpgkeys: HTTP search error 1: unsupported protocol
gpg: key "[email blocked]" not found

gpg: keyserver internal error
gpg: keyserver search failed: Keyserver error
Using a plain old HKP server works fine.
The gnupg and gnupg2 macports both support HKPS. It would be nice if this support was included in GPGTools. I thought it was supported previously...

Hi Carl,
we are currently working on this. hkps support should already be working. But there's still some work to be done.
We'll let you know once this is fully implemented.
All the best,
steve
