GPG Mail: There should be a button in the Apple Mail plugin to refresh keys (GPG Mail #759)
Which of our tools is giving you problems?
Apple Mail plugin
Describe your problem. Add as much detail as possible.
If a message verification throws a warning that the signature's key has expired, and I click on "Show Details" it just says "Message signature's key has expired" and tells me to go to GPG keychain and refresh the key with that fingerprint, which I am presumably expected to cut and paste, or search for by eye. This is not user-friendly.
What did you expect instead
There should be a button to refresh the key.

Hi Andrew,
thanks for taking the time to get in touch with this suggestion.
This is an obviously improvement and we've had this in our tracker for a while. Sadly we never got around to implement it.
As you are probably aware there was some work happening in regards to a privacy preserving key update mechanism. Sadly that work has stalled :(
We already have an open feature request to allow to refresh a key from the key server when verification results return, that the signatres key has expired. We've added your comments and vote to it. The number of votes is one factor that helps us to determine what feature to add next.
The workaround is to manually open GPG Keychain, select the public key in question and from the menu bar select
Key > Update from Key Server
(⌘ + U).This discussion will be updated, when the requested feature is available.
Have a nice day,
Steve
