GPG Keychain Access 1.0b7
10.8.5

Please describe your problem. Add as much detail as possible.

After selecting copying the fingerprint of one key and then opening another key, the application displays the first key

Please describe what you did expect instead

Each key should display a unique fingerprint

If you remember, please describe the steps leading up to the problem

  1. Select a key and open its info with Command-I.

  2. Select the Key tab

  3. Select the text of the fingerprint and copy it with Command-C.

  4. Close the tab with Command-W

  5. Select a different key and inspect its info with Command-I

  6. Note that the new key still shows the old key's fingerprint highlighted

Hi David, this is a bug which is already fixed. Could you please download and run the latest GPG Suite from our homepage and see if the problem persists?

    Best, steve

Thanks. On version 1.1.3 (601), each key now displays a unique signature.

Two nits with this release, both minor:

    1. After selecting one signature and closing the key, the signature in a
second key is also selected after opening. This is not exactly a bug, in
that it's convenient when a user wants to copy signatures from multiple
keys. But retaining a selection (highlighting) across multiple fields is
not standard window manager behavior AFAIK.

    2. The installer gives the pinentry tampering error as discussed here:

    http://support.gpgtools.org/discussions/everything/12427-someone-tampered-with-your-installation-of-pinentry-mac

But it appears you're already on that one.

Thanks! OK to close out this ticket.

    Hey David,

    1) not sure about standard behavior but the reasoning behind this is as follows: you need to have a UserID selected, in order to display the signatures. If no user ID would be selected, no signatures would display. Since that isn't very helpful or informative, we default to selecting the first UserID.

We've tweaked GPG Keychain Access a little so that now no longer also is the first signature selected as well. From now on, no signature will be selected.

    2) Could you please check again, if that issue persists with the latest nightly?

    All the best, steve

Disclaimer: This is a development version which has not been thoroughly tested yet, so bugs or crashes are to be expected. Thanks for helping us test this fix.

If you want to test the fix, please install the nightly (link in Comment 4).

    Closing.
