Expected
I expected the key to be found: (GPG Keychain should respond with an entry for Thomas Voegtlin’s public key. Click Retrieve Key)

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Which key server are you using in GPG Keychain > Preferences > Key server?

I just tried searching for
0x2bd5824b7f9470e6
and found the public key.

Best,

thanks for your reply. I’m using 'hkps://keys.openpgp.org’ hkps://keys.openpgp.org%E2%80%99 it says.

best regards

Peter

Pieter van der Boontag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/487219222020-10-16T12:20:59Z2020-10-16T12:20:59ZGPG Keychain: Thomas Voegtlin’s public key for Electrum not found

Sorry, my bad, the public key in question resides on the old key servers, which are rather unreliable. I would suggest to get in touch with the key owner and ask them to upload and verify their public key on the new key server https://keys.openpgp.org/

In GPG Keychain > Preferences > Key Server you can tick the option to fallback to the old key servers if now public key is found for your search on the new server. You may have to try a few times as the old servers are unreliable.

Let me know if that worked as expected.

Steve
