Hi,
Something is wrong. I want to back up my secret keys but the export function doesn’t work. I click on it and nothing happens. I have just bought the ‘support plan’ and wanted to install a fresh version of GPG Suite and import my keys.

Expected

    Hi Joanne,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

You are running a very outdated version of GPG Suite. Could you please download and install GPG Suite from our website and then see if that changes anything for the better or worse.

    Best,
    Steve

    Hi,
I’m happy to do that but wanted to make sure that I won’t lose my existing keys if i do so. It sounds like I won’t lose them so I will go ahead with your suggestion.

    Best
    Joanne

    Hi Joanne,

this KB-article explains how to backup keys or your entire .gnupg folder. It also explains how to transfer keys from one mac to a second mac if you want to use the same keys on more than a single machine.

To be safe you can create a backup of your gnupg folder.

    All the best,
    Steve
