I imported a public key from my officemate and uploaded the same in my pc via Kleopatra GUI.

The public key was used to encrypt a file.

My officemante is able to decrypt the file but when I tried to decrypt the same file, I got the error Decryption Failed no Secret Key Error .

How do I recolve this?

Thanks.

    Hi John,

this is the community support platform for all things GPG Suite (OpenPGP on macOS).

For any questions regarding gpg4win, please see their website about obtaining support. There are various resources like mailing list as well as user forum.

If you find a solution, it would be great if you could crosslink the Gpg4win thread, so other users running into a similar issue will quickly find the solution.

From your description it sounds like you imported a public key of your contact. If you then encrypt content with that public key only the person with the corresponding secret key will be able to decrypt. As you do not have that secret key, being unable to decrypt would be expected.

    All the best,
    Steve
