I am new to gpg and I checked online for the codes to use it. It shows that gpg version is 2.2.12
Then I created a key pair and typed in the list key command. it was showing something like this..

/home/afsal/.gnupg/pubring.kbx

pub rsa3072 2019-12-15 [SC] [expires: 2021-12-14]
48DC978ECC312459DA742744DF5A3117C6A179D8 uid [ultimate] MY NAME
sub rsa3072 2019-12-15 [E] [expires: 2021-12-14]

anywhere i search online for the issue"unusable public key", they all are using a public key ID to edit it and change trust level. but I dont see that ID in mine. Really confused in here.. please response back if anybody knows what is the problem..

    Hi afsalpvsbr,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. This is the community support platform for all things GPG Suite (OpenPGP on macOS).

As it seems you are using gpg on linux, this question may be best asked at the gnupg users mailling list.

But maybe this reply already will solve your problem. "unusable public key" could indicate that your key and / or subkey have expired. Please extend both as required and see if that brings you back to working state.

    All the best,
    Steve
