welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Could you please send a debug log from your affected machine: Open System Preferences > GPG Suite > Send Report. Check the box to "attach debug log". Since you already described your issue in this discussion, you don't need to add a lot of detail, but please do add the link to your existing discussion, so I can then merge your debug info with this existing discussion.

All the best,
thanks for your reply. I've sent the report as described.

Best,

Your debug log suggests, that in addition to MacGPG you also have an old GnuPG version 1.4.9 installed under /usr/local/bin/gpg. This is why you are seeing the error message.

Please run the following commands in Terminal to disable the old gpg version:

sudo mv /usr/local/bin/gpg /usr/local/bin/gpg-v"$(/usr/local/bin/gpg --version|head -n1|cut -d" " -f3)"
sudo ln -s /usr/local/MacGPG2/bin/gpg2 /usr/local/bin/gpg

Let us know if that brings you back to working state.

All the best,
thanks for looking into it. Unfortunately that didn't work and the problem persists. Is there maybe another way?

Thank you so much!

please excuse the late reply. We were currently seeing a large influx of support request which we are working through as fast as we can.

Do you recall how you installed gpg 1 on your mac?
