welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

I would not advise that setup.

You can download and install our latest hotfix GPG Suite. It includes MacGPG 2.2.17 and an updated libgcrypt.

All the best,
Steve

Disclaimer: This is a development version which has not been thoroughly tested yet - bugs or crashes are to be expected. Thanks for helping us test.

Stevetag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/474697062019-07-29T20:25:12Z2019-07-29T20:25:13ZParallel Use of GnuPG and MacGPG

I have now de-instelled the GnuPG Package and only the MacPG is active ( beside an scd-pkcs11 lib )

So is the Hotfix used without the GnuPG package ?

antispam007tag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/474697062019-08-01T16:26:48Z2019-08-01T16:26:48ZParallel Use of GnuPG and MacGPG

Hi,

could you please elaborate what you mean by "Hotfix used without the GnuPG package ?".
To add more information to your first question, it is not really possible to run two different versions of GnuPG side-by-side and one reason for that is, that gpg-agent – the process which handles the passphrase caching, unlocking of the secret key for decrypting and signing message – is launched on demand, as are other processes. However, if one is already running, which was the case in your case, GnuPG will complain that the versions don't match.

Our latest hotfix contains the latest GnuPG version soon after its release by gnupg.org, so what you can do is to install only MacGPG/GnuPG from the latest hotfix by following this guide: https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/kb/how-to/gpg-suite-custom-install

Hope that helps.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/474697062019-08-01T20:18:43Z2019-08-01T20:18:48ZParallel Use of GnuPG and MacGPG

Hi Luke,

ok, you explained it, why it is not working to have both (MacGPG and GnuPG) versions installed. So I now have only installed MacGPG and scd-pkcs11lib and it works so far. I will open a different topic for a different question.

antispam007tag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/474697062019-08-01T20:24:20Z2019-08-01T20:24:20ZParallel Use of GnuPG and MacGPG

Glad this is solved for you. I'm closing this discussion. Should you need further assistance or have questions you can re-open this discussion here or open a new one any time.

Best,
