displaying consistent version number?
just upgraded to the newest 2016.07 (global GPGSuite
upgrade),
but the UPGRADE DID NOT provide any success (or failure)
feedback.
--> in Mac Mail Preferences, only version of GPGMail shows, not the one of GPGSuite (see attached screenshot) --> in GPG Keychain, only version of GPG keychain shows (similar behaviour)
Would be nice to show in either cases the current version of GPGMail / GPG Keychain AND also the version of GPG Suite it is based on, to double-check from the expected upgrade.
My context:
* Mac OS X latest (10.11) * the matching Mac Mail version (as per
Apple updating system) * upgrade to 2016.7 version of GPGSuite
note: no other Mac Mail plug-in being used in that case.
Cheers

Hi sindt,
if you don't see any error, everything is fine. From the screenshot, you do have the latest GPGMail and since no update can be found, you also have the latest GPG Suite.
GPG Suite is indeed 2016.07. GPGMail which is a component included in GPG Suite is indeed 2.6.1.
GPG Suite includes GPGMail, GPG Keychain, GPGServices, GPGPreferences and MacGPG. So all components as well as the Suite do have a version number.
Let me know if this answers your question.
All the best,
steve

Hi Steve,
THANKS a lot for your help!
understood and agree with details you are providing.
It is more a matter of usability / ergonomy.
Actually, right after initiating the thread, I received a very good hint from the support app:
System Pref —> GPG Preferences —> should display the Updates tab:
this info would very well solve my latest worries.
on my own system, it displays however:
As you see, there is no Updates tab on my system, so I can’t see this very useful data :)
What is my system missing to show the Updates tab?
Cheers

Since we have simplified the update channels in the latest update, we decided to remove the updates tab. We have a pending ticket to add the version details to the about tab. I connected this discussion with the existing ticket. That means, should this discussion get closed, it will be re-opened as soon as the ticket is closed. That way you'll stay in the loop and get notified as soon as we have news. Feel free to open a new discussions should you run into further problems or need assistance.

Hi Steve,
that’s fine for me to stay tuned to the pending ticket,
and to get version details in the About tab, depending on the feature details :)
Thanks a lot for your reply!
cheers
Eric

GPG Suite 2016.10 has the fix and version details are listed in the 'About' tab.
