gpg-wks-client in jenkins-jail? (MacGPG #791)

Hi,

I'm back to playing around with a few questions around WKS, and I decided to recreate my server directory. I had previously used gpg-wks-client, located in /usr/local/MacGPG2/libexec ... however, that file only contains a shell script pointing to an executable file at /Users/gpgtools-services/jenkins-jail/workspace/MacGPG2-vm/build/dist/x86_64/bin/gpg-wks-client - which, um, isn't correct?

I'm guessing this is a packaging bug, is there a place I can pick up the real file? Is there a nightly build I can use (but not otherwise disturb the other beta code, which is working reasonably well)?

    Hi KMP,

we're sorry for your bad experience.
This is very much a bug, and we'll update this discussion once it's solved.

    Hi KMP,

could you please download and install our latest hotfix GPG Suite and see if that solves your problem. It should come along with gpgme. Would be great if you could give it a test run and let us know how things go.

    All the best,
    Steve

    Hi there,

Yes, indeed it works. Not all that well - but not your problem (I couldn't get any answers out of it without the --verbose flag, and I don't see any accesses at all to my .well-known/openpgkey directory... but it must have pulled it from somewhere - so I think I'm good).

Any reason I shouldn't just go on forward with this nightly? Anything else to test?

    Thanks!

Hm, you could ask about the remaining issues you are seeing at the gnupg users mailling list. If it turns out, there is more we need to adjust or change, do let us know.

The nightly currently is your best bet. It is fairly stable and I would suggest to use it over the beta any time.

To give an idea of what we have been working on in the past month
    - MacGPG 2.5 - ECC keys are new default in GPG Keychain - PGP/Inline support was added: inline emails are decrypted and verified - emails sent from CanaryMail and Thunderbird are correctly decrypted - messages mangled by MS Exchange are now correctly decrypted and displayed - error messages are correctly shown (see above for the Tahoe specific newly introduced issues) - false error messages when composing a draft from an account with no OpenPGP key are no longer shown - OpenPGP keys where signing capability was in a subkey or on a smartcard can be used as expected and are no longer throwing a wrong error message - activations with GPG Mail Support Plans older than version 7 no longer block upgrading to version 7 - a crash that could happen after activating has been addressed - much more reliable interaction when pinentry shows to ask for a passphrase - the draft animates out until pinentry is answered

Should you run into any trouble please don't hesitate to reach out via our support and let us know.
