GPG Keychain: visual indicator about expired subkey

It would be great if GPG Keychain could provide a visual indicator on the main list of keys that would make it obvious when a key is unusable due to an expired encryption sub-key. Currently, it seems only the master key's status triggers a change to the validity column and the row itself being greyed out indicating it's unusable. However, this often leads to users extending the expiration date of the master key but forgetting to also go extend the expiration date of the subkey.

    Hi gpg_dude,

thanks for taking the time to report this problem.

A visual indicator to inform users about keys with issues that need to be resolved would be desirable.

We have a ticket for this problem. I connected this discussion with the existing ticket. That means, should this discussion get closed, it will be re-opened as soon as the ticket is closed. That way you stay in the loop and will receive info as soon as we have news. Feel free to open a new discussion should you run into further problems or need assistance.

The idea outlined in the ticket describes an additional warning column for the main window of GPG Keychain. In that column we would show a warning icon to indicate there are problems with that specific key. Ideally a click on the warning icon would offer steps to resolve the trouble.

    Best,
    Steve
