Where are private keys stored?
GPG Keychain, GPG Preferences & GPG Services
Version 1.2.1 (1147):
I have moved the Keychain application into an encrypted volume on my computer. Despite this, the names of the keys still appear on GPG Preferences in System preferences and I am able to encrypt and decrypt with my private keys through the services menu. Where is GPG Preferences and GPG Services referencing my keys from since the Keychain is now located in an encrypted volume? The private keys must be stored somewhere else other than the Keychain application? If so, where?

PS. I'm aware they are also stored on a server but I am still able to perform functions whilst offline.

Hi Dan,
both public and secret keys are stored in keyring files in ~/.gnupg. Keys are not stored in GPG Keychain.
Also secret keys should never be stored on any server. The key servers only store public keys for distribution.
All the best,
steve
