gpg: selecting card failed: Operation not supported by device... again?
Hello,
This is related to this discussion:
https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/discussions/feedback/16194-gpg-selec...
Today I rebooted my Macbook and, same behaviour as last time, I can't use my Yubikey USB-C... Not recognized... Any "new" idea how to solve this?
Tx!

Hi Xavier,
sorry to hear about more trouble with your Yubikey.
Can you please open System Preferences > GPG Suite > About and send a screenshot of the version infos shown.
Best,

Do you have plans to update macOS to 11.2.3 (think 11.3 is incoming very soon) as it would be very helpful to verify this problem persists on the latest stable release of macOS.
You have tried the usual killing of scdaemon, gpg-agent, ...?

No plan to upgrade (it was working nicely before the reboot) but I will do.
Tested also after killing interesting processes, did not solve the problem.

Another information:
The Yubikey management tool detects the key and the keys installed on it…

I use gpg via command line, but exeperienced the same error recently. in my case downgrading from gnupg 2.3.1 to gnupg 2.2.7 helped.
brew uninstall --ignore-dependencies gnupg
brew install gnupg@2.2

Tx for sharing!
I don’t know why but after a few hours, my Yubikey was working again!? (and nothing changed)

Hm, maybe it was the nightly build after all that resolved the issue as there were a few fixes around smartcards since the 2020.2 release.
Glad this is solved for you. Please keep a close eye on this. I'm closing this discussion. Should you need further assistance or have questions you can re-open this discussion here or open a new one any time.
Best,
Steve
