how top decrypt message with private key
I sent someone my public key, and then they sent me back a message in code asking me to decrypt it with my private key. how do I do that?

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.
For new users we recommend reading the Getting Started Tutorial.
It explains how to setup your system and test if everything works as expected. Can you follow those steps and let me know if you are able to send yourself an encrypted and signed email and then decrypt and verify that message please.
Don't hesitate to ask if anything is unclear or you have open questions after going through the KB article.
