I have not been able to communicate properly since Catalina. I quite literally just paid for this so I could continue to use it for work...and now I can't use it. This is ridiculous. You need to put a release date for the next update. And, if you're going to charge Mac users for it now if you can't fix it on time, you need to issue me a refund. I just paid for nothing. This has gone on for long enough.

Mandytag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-06T18:47:30Z2019-11-12T11:43:58ZGPGTools with Catalina?

Same issue! Suffering massively. Vague 'coming soon' message on the website for weeks. Sheer incompetence. What a nightmare!

Mangotag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-07T01:17:28Z2019-11-12T11:43:58ZGPGTools with Catalina?

I'm not sure why anyone is so upset about the delay. Does it suck? Yes, but this is free software! If it takes them a little more time to ensure that they get it right for the new release of macOS then so be it!

Jeremytag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-07T04:14:44Z2019-11-12T11:43:58ZGPGTools with Catalina?

What are you saying, Jeremy? I paid USD 23.90 for GPG Mail Support Plan.

Mangotag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-07T12:22:47Z2019-11-12T11:43:58ZGPGTools with Catalina?

Yes, the software can be downloaded free of charge and tried for a month...being able to use it beyond that is 24 bucks though. So thanks Jeremy for this comment. People are a bit pissed because they pay for a software they cannot use and support they do not get.

Petertag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-07T13:07:30Z2019-11-12T11:43:57ZGPGTools with Catalina?

I downloaded postbox for one month trial. Combined with Enigmail add-on, I am able to to send and receive encrypted emails. This is just a work-around until they release the update.

Jesustag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-07T14:49:49Z2019-11-12T11:43:57ZGPGTools with Catalina?

@mandy and @mango: don't over exaggerate please. It's inconvenient but you can still use GPG on the CLI. Drag the .asc file to your desktop, open the Terminal, cd Desktop, gpg filename.asc and voila.... The unencrypted file is on your desktop. The other way around is also possible: gpg -ea filename and input the receiver. Verify the .asc file to contain your encrypted (unreadable) message and drag it to a new email. Inconvenient? Yes. A nightmare? Gosh, I wonder what REAL nightmares look like then... Come on dudes, first world problems.

Arjantag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-07T14:52:24Z2019-11-12T11:43:57ZGPGTools with Catalina?

Well, the communication is completely lacking indeed and working on a product/forum myself, that is the worst thing you can do really. I never will understand why that's not possible, even if it would just be a simple "working on x or y, sorry guys", it will be helpful to many.

However, I do need it for work, hence I never updated to Catalina, so no harm done there and it should be standard practice to not immediately update when you're depending on it.

Vincenttag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-12T03:16:09Z2019-11-12T11:43:56ZGPGTools with Catalina?

Hi all,

Thank you very much.

Stefan Wendlertag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/478130482019-11-13T16:04:46Z2019-11-13T16:04:47ZGPGTools with Catalina?

Thank you for your response, Steve. Good to know.

@Arjan, I wouldn't call it a nightmare...just that paying for software that cannot be used (I use it for work) and not being able to use it is a definite inconvenience. And having to go through the command window is not a big deal either. However, not everyone knows that using the command window is an option. If it's going to continue to be supported, and the issue gets taken care of, then no big deal. But, this has gone on for a while longer than anticipated.

Mandy
