Airmail Plugin?

In light of the Apple Mail debacle, I've been looking for other email clients. Perhaps it's time for GPGTools to write a paid plugin for Airmail? This may be a happy medium for both GPGTools and Airmail. Both are now for-profit and can work together to make sure that new releases work together properly without requiring any reverse engineering.

I think all that anyone wants is a decent email client on macOS with GPGTools plugin.

I, for one, would have no problem paying slightly more than what GPGTools currently charges for an Airmail plugin. Even if that is separate from the cost of the Apple Mail plugin.

    Hi Utkonos,

thanks for your feedback. We are working on 10.15 compatibility with the utmost urgency and priority. It shouldn't be too far away now.

As for Airmail: it's not OpenSource software and looking at what we currently have to handle is somewhat out of scope. We'll see what the future brings though, but near term it's not on our todo.

    All the best,
    Steve

    Steve,

Thanks for the prompt response. Apple Mail is not open source either. However, it would seem that between the two, Airmail's company may be more open to partnering with your company so that you and they can deliver a product on time and without any hitches.

That right of course. But besides the many known glitches and bugs we ourselves have reported for Mail.app we still like it and think it's a nice app.

We have an open feature request for supporting Airmail and I'll add your vote to it.

Also, why have you marked this discussion private?

I've paid for support for this product from your company.

You are receiving support. Marked as private as most of the 10.15 discussions are redundant and add little new information. This is now also a feature request and we've processed it, to add your vote.

Setting this to public as requested.

    Hi Utkonos,

we wanted to get you up to date in regards to GPG Mail for macOS Catalina:

GPG Suite 2019.2 is very close to being complete and ready for public release and here is Release Candidate 2 of GPG Suite 2019.2 including GPG Mail 4 which adds macOS 10.15 compatibility.

Once GPG Suite 2019.2 is publically released, you will automatically be notified. Just make sure that update checks are enabled in System Preferences › GPG Suite.

We are very sorry that this release took longer than we had anticipated.

    Kind regards,
    Steve
