I noticed you guys have not verified your GitHub account using Keybase https://keybase.io/gpgtools
Any chance you could do this for us users?

Also, can you confirm here that this is the correct fingerprint for the release key?

Thanks,

I recalled that there was a reason why we didn't do that a long time ago, and unfortunately after re-trying I now remember why: GPGTools is an organization on Github and Keybase doesn't support proofing Organizations.

The fingerprint you posted is the correct one. You can always find the most recent version on our website.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/470272912019-03-04T11:08:31Z2019-03-04T11:08:31ZVerify GitHub account using keybase?

Thanks for explaining Luke.
Perhaps you can simply post a clear-signed message (gist, etc) on GitHub stating:

We are signing this message to confirm that these are our official accounts:

Twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/GPGTools
GitHub: https://github.com/GPGTools
Website: https://gpgtools.org/
Support: https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com
Keybase: https://keybase.io/gpgtools

Would something like that work?

Thanks!

would post something like that on our website work?
Unfortunately GitHub organizations don't have their own Gists or Pages or similar. We could only post it as a personal gist of one of our team members.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/470272912019-03-20T16:35:06Z2019-03-20T16:35:06ZVerify GitHub account using keybase?

Thanks Luke.
Hmmm, yeah, this is trickier than I expected.
What about creating a project under the GitHub organization, such as 'docs':
https://github.com/GPGTools/docs

And posting a signed text file and pubkey there?

Otherwise, posting to the website somewhere would probably be fine.

Cheers,

Does that work for you?

Stevetag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/470272912019-03-29T13:54:33Z2019-03-29T13:54:33ZVerify GitHub account using keybase?

Yeah, that is fine for me. Thanks!

jcrosstag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/470272912019-03-29T13:58:27Z2019-03-29T13:58:27ZVerify GitHub account using keybase?

Just for your info, there is a problem currently where the upload of our public key hit's a limit. We are working on that...

Glad this is solved for you. I'm closing this discussion. Should you need further assistance or have questions you can re-open this discussion here or open a new one any time.
