Has the EFAIL security vulnerability even been fixed yet??
While we're all focused on whether to pay up or to walk away, are we not missing the bigger picture?
Earlier this year, fundamental PGP flaws were highlighted. These flaws basically mean (meant?) that email encrypted by tools such GPGMail are subject to serious security issues in which the messages CAN BE READ.
Although the GPGTools folks said that they would provide a "fix", I've not been able to come across anything that indicates GPGMail is safe to use now. So, for all of those who agree to pay into an undefined, nebulous support plan, perhaps it may be wise to pause and consider what you're actually paying for.
Hey developers: Now might be a good time to either reassure everybody that the problem has been solved or, to come clean. If the former, it may help your goal to have users pay for the program.
